Motorsports Photography

Karting is the very foundation of 4-wheel motorsports. The great modern racers in the pinnacle of motorsport, Formula One, all had great karting careers. I consider myself lucky to have found an avenue for my sons and even my daughter to be involved in the sport. It has brought our family together unlike any other activity. The outings to the various race tracks in the Coca-Cola National Series are always a welcome activity for the kids and me. My eldest son, Carlos, is now participating in the National Championship as part of the City Kart Racing Team. Here are some photos from the races;

Coaching is a very important part of racing. Drivers have to be mentally and physically prepared for each race. Mental strength if key to doing well in karting. 20 minutes of 100% non-stop focus is what makes a karter great.

Lap times determine how well you do during the race and consistency is what separates a good driver from a great driver. In karting, times are not measured in seconds but in tenths, hunderedths even thousandths of a second. Modern techonology has allowed teams to measure time and other data to fine tune the racing kart to the best set up for the given conditions.

Wheel to wheel racing is what it is all about. Karting, specially at this level is serious business. Drivers fight for the narrow spaces on the race track to get ahead of each other. Collisions and accidents are common during race day but these guys just get back in their racing machines to fight for position.

Winning is what it's all about. Podium finishes are always welcome.

Racing is all about family and friends. It is great to see families bonding during race and practice weekends. It is very common to see three generations on track rooting for their drivers.

Now let's go racing!
